Your local AC technician is coming over for your regular air conditioning unit maintenance visit. And as always, your HVAC system is running smoothly, or so you think? Have you ever wondered, what your air conditioning technician does, when checking your unit during a routine maintenance visit?
Here is a basic overview of what you can expect during your HVAC maintenance visit:
General System Check
Your San Tan Valley HVAC expert will check the entire system such as the air conditioning, the heat pump and the furnace, if applicable. If everything runs as it should- great! If items such as the air filter or water panel need to be removed and replaced, we will do that during our regular maintenance visit, as it is part of our maintenance service. We will also make sure that the coolant is not leaking and that it is as full as it should be. This includes checking if temperature settings properly, making sure the system shuts off and starts as it should.
Your San Tan air conditioning technician will also check the system for safety hazards such as problems with gas and oil connections or rusty areas that could allow carbon monoxide to seep into your home and pose a potentially fatal danger to you and your family. We will also check your burner and heat exchanger to ensure that they function properly and safety, don’t pose a safety hazards and won’t cause any dangerous malfunctions.
If something is broken – we will fix it. After all, that is why we do maintenance checks, to ensure that nothing is broken and that small problems get repaired before they turn costly. Routine HVAC repairs include lubrication of movable parts, belt-alignment, replacing old and worn parts and tightening loose connections.
If we find a big problem, we will schedule a repair visit for you to ensure that we have the right tools and the necessary time to repair your system perfectly.
Questions and Concerns
If you noticed that there has been something off or strange about your air conditioning system as of late, tell your technician about it. Also if you want useful tips on how to decrease energy consumption and how to make the most of your HVAC system, he will be happy to help. Don’t be afraid to ask us about how to change an air filter or how to work your new thermostat. That’s what we are here for.
Usually, the last thing we do during our visit is to write up a report on what was inspected, which parts were tightened, replaced or need more looking after. This is a great future resource for you to know what was done on past visits, how much something ended up costing and when the last maintenance check was performed.
